Victory for Mary Immaculate

Mary Immaculate’s Senior Ladies Football team claimed the Clare Schools Senior C Cup final honours in an entertaining and exciting game of football in Lees Road today. 🏆

The game was officiated by Michael Fitzgerald and the team was captained by Leah Mc Namara, Sadhbh Blood and Lynn Mc Cormack. 🎉

Mary Immaculate got off to a good start with an early goal and a brace of points in quick succession. However, St Caimins fought back strongly with four points of their own leaving only two points between the sides at half time in favour of Mary Immaculate.

The opening ten minutes of the second half was a tense affair with St Caimins tagging on another point to leave just one point between the sides.

After Mary Immaculate had missed two close range chances, Mary Immaculate scored a vital goal at a crucial stage in the game.

Mary Immaculate withstood relentless pressure from a determined and gutsy fightback from St Caimins who tagged on four points but two decisive Mary Immaculate goals followed up by a well taken point under pressure saw Mary Immaculate winning on a score line of 4-12 to 1-14.

Well done to all the girls on their tenacity, courage and fine display of football and their mentors Ms.Slattery and Ms.Keating. ⚽️ 🥳
