Dear Parents/Guardians

We are almost one month into this new school year and I hope you and all your family are well. It has been a busy month and I hope that overall your child is happy to be back at school and enjoying being with friends and their school community, whilst learning and making progress with coursework. I am taking this opportunity to communicate the following updates and reminders:

  1. Our school ‘Drop off Box’: When dropping items to school for your child (lunch, gear bags, books etc.) there is a storage box in place, just outside the main door of the school, where you can drop these items off. Please alert the main office when you make a drop off and ensure the items are in a bag and clearly labelled with your child’s name and class group.

  1. Parents/Guardians should avoid entering the school building without a prior appointment organised through the main office. On entering the building, you must fill in a contact tracing log form. Please ensure you are wearing a mask and use the sanitizing stations.

  1. Signing in or out students for Medical Appointments or any other reason can, be done by using the school app messaging/phoning/ or emailing the school office in advance. If the main school line rings out please leave a voicemail. Please do not come into the school.

  1. The school is closed on Monday 28 September. We will have our midterm break from October 26 to 30th inclusive.

  1. October assessments will take place for all students during the month of October and results will be available on ePortal 27 October 2020. First year parents will be emailed their access code for their son/daughter, in the next few days.

  1. First years are continuing to trail their option subjects for 4 weeks each and they will decide on their option subjects on the week of October 19 2020, prior to midterm.

  1. We will have another follow up information session for First year parents on ePortal, Covid restrictions and any other transitional issues in October, date to be decided.

  1. TY parents will have an on line meeting re our new TY Programme. Ms Nagle will be sending out information re this shortly.
  2. Our Parent Association AGM will take place virtually on the 12 of October. All are welcome.

  1. Evening Study for Leaving Certs will recommence on October 5 from 4 to 5.45pm. Third Year evening study will resume in the following weeks subject to demand.

  1. Further information on our enrolment process for Incoming First years 2021.2022 will be issued shortly.

Once again many thanks for your continued support and be very proud of your resilient children. They have ensured by their ability to adapt and adjust to the regulations in place, that they are safe and the lives of those close to them are safe and protected as well.

Best regards

Mona Hynes
