School Reopening August 2020

Mary Immaculate Secondary School

August 05 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope this letter finds you well and that you and your family are enjoying the summer holidays despite these unprecedented times. I am writing to you to give a brief update on our schools position in relation to the Roadmap for School Reopening released by the Minister for Education early last week.

As parents can appreciate, reopening our schools whilst adhering to Public Health Guidelines poses significant challenges for all concerned. Ensuring student and staff safety is our utmost priority. The HSE and Department of Education Response Plan and the Roadmap Framework for Reopening of Schools will guide all measures we put in place. As a result, this return to school in September will be a different experience for all our school community. There will be changes to the navigation routes around the building and the structure of daily school life.

I appreciate that parents and students may be nervous about the thought of the return to school, but as we finalise our individual response plan, we will keep all informed of safety protocols over the coming weeks.

We will host on line Zoom information meetings for all parents and students, which will give the most up-to-date information in relation to our return to school and will endeavour to answer any specific questions you may have. These online meetings will give students and parents a clear picture of what school life will look like as we reopen in September.

If parents have concerns about their child’s health, please contact the school to discuss or wait until after the Zoom meeting, as your concerns will be addressed there.

The following are the proposed dates for the upcoming Zoom meetings
