Our past pupil Jane O Loughlin is currently in final year of Speech and Language Therapy in UCC.
Jane spoke with our students today about her volunteering placement she will be involved with this summer.
SERVE is a development and volunteering organisation committed to tackling the root causes of poverty to achieve justice, equality and opportunities for all. Jane will be taking part in SERVE's volunteer programme to India this summer.
Other volunteers and Jane will work in Bengaluru and are fundraising to financially support projects there.
The projects include working with adults with physical and intellectual disabilities and children with special education needs, and working in a school for the visually impaired. These projects reach the most vulnerable, supporting the weakest and poorest members of society.
As well as committing to working overseas for a month this summer, every volunteer is required to raise a minimum fundraising target of €3,495.
Mary immaculate will be having a non-uniform day on March 16 - Wear the Green with pride day - in order to support Jane’s fundraising efforts.
Please support Jane by clicking the link below and donating to this wonderful cause.
