May News Updates

Wishing you a lovely Bank holiday weekend with great confidence that things are looking much brighter! The month of May heralds the beginning of summer and the month of Mary Our Lady, the patron of our school. Our Lady faced much suffering and uncertainly in her lifetime and despite this, she paved a secure path for us to follow. She represents all women, mothers and all those who nurture and protect the vulnerable and our future. May she bless and protect us as we work together to complete this vital month to conclude our academic year.

Now more than ever we need everyone working together so we can ensure assessments, tests and the state exams are completed along with the continuity and joy of just the ordinary day-to-day events of school life and all its interactions and fun.

Thank you to our student council representatives who attended our virtual CEIST Gathering with our CEIST coordinators and special guest Professor Luke O Neill on Tuesday morning last. You posed questions to him and interacted on issues pertaining to post-primary students and the impact this last year has on teenage life and education.

Well done to all our students yesterday who came to school wearing all the colours of the spectrum in support and raising awareness of Autism and the organisation As I Am. The title of the day was The Power of Difference the Colour of Diversity. Many thanks to Caroline our SNA who spearheaded the event and all our students who participated. We are all very proud of your unity in action and celebration of diversity and difference in our world.

We are continuing to host our Parents Association Competition for another few days and will announce the winner on Friday May 4. Students have the guess the number of sweets in the jar and win all the sweets plus a 50-euro voucher! This is one of our end of year wellbeing events organised by our Parents Association, which is helping to raise funds for their valuable work and support to Mary Immaculate and our students. We thank the Parents Association for their continued support.
