Mary Immaculate students would like to invite all parents and members of the public to a Mass for the Care of Creation celebrated this Thursday 23rd May at 7 pm in Lisdoonvarna Church to praise God for the beauty of Creation; to pray for his help in strengthening humanity's desire to protect Creation; and to pray his special blessings of encouragement and strength upon all who dedicates their lives to defending Creation through education, raising-awareness, and direct actions.
After Mass, in the Community Room, Dr. Lorna Gold of Trócaire will offer some reflections on the key issues and responsibilities of Christians and of all people of good will as regards our shared mission – as Pope Francis puts it – to “protect our common home”. There will be tea and coffee and the opportunity to converse, to ask questions, and to pool ideas for a parish and area response to urgent issues affecting our beautiful world.
On Friday morning Mary Immaculate students would like to invite you to their Young Environmentalist Projects “Communicating Climate Change”. This event will take place in the Pavilion Theatre on Friday 24th May from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. The students will present their two Young Environmentalists Projects. Guest speakers will be Dr. Lorna Gold of Trócaire and Seamus Walsh, Head of Climate Observations for Met Éireann.
This event is open to the public and free of charge as it is part-funded by Creative Ireland.
PLEASE come along and support the students’ efforts to help raise awareness and understand the crucial issue of climate change.
