Mary Immaculate Secondary School is located in the town of Lisdoonvarna in north County Clare. It was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1949 and became co-educational soon after. It continues today as part of the CEIST group of schools.

The Whole School Evaluation carried out by the Department of Education in 2008 described Mary Immaculate as “A school which is caring, rooted in the community and has a warm friendly atmosphere … The school’s Christian ethos is lived out in a day-to-day manner in an exemplary way.”
